Natus Vincere will face the winner of Evil Geniuses vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas in the Group A consolidation final for another chance at making the BLAST Premier Fall Finals.
OG are through to the Group A grand final match after defeating Natus Vincere in the upper bracket final and have secured a spot at the BLAST Premier Fall Finals regardless of the grand final’s result, which will be played for seeding and prize money. Meanwhile, Natus Vincere will go down to the consolidation final, where they will face the victor of Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Evil Geniuses for another shot at making it to the Group A grand final and the BLAST Premier Fall Finals.
OG defeated Natus Vincere for the first time after losing to them three times this year, and they did so in a two-map series which started on their map pick, Mirage, where they were able to edge past Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov and company in a full thirty rounds before dominating the CT side of Dust2, reaching double digits at the half to go on and close it out on the attack.
Natus Vincere won the first pistol round on the CT side of Mirage, following it up to go 2-0, but doubles by Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt and Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski got OG on the board in the third round. Egor "flamie" Vasilyev and Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev then closed down the B site in the fourth to stay ahead. NAVI kept a tight grip early on, taking a 6-1 lead, buit OG then started to play for mid control, which paid dividends as they were able to bring it back to within three at the half.
s1mple downed three CTs in the second pistol round getting his team to double digits and NAVI then made it 11-6 after the anti-eco, but hit a wall in the first gun round as Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen took out three players of his own. OG then stopped the CIS team’s attacks over and over until they regained the lead, 12-11, forcing NAVI to take several timeouts in the meantime. Natus Vincere were finally able to get another round to make it 12-14, following it up to get within one, but were ultimately shut down as OG took their map pick in-extremis, 16-14.
NAVI got ahead on the attacking side of Dust2, but were instantly punished by Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså and Aleksib, who made it 1-1 and forced the terrorists to play an eco round. OG then went on a tear, with Aleksib even winning a 1vs3 retake on A to make it 8-2 in the tenth round before going on to hit double digits ahead of the switch, 10-5.
OG weren’t able to get the bomb down in the second pistol round, and all players were taken out by the defending side, but the European team didn’t let up once rifles were in play, going on to win five rounds in a row to make the final score 16-9 and secure their presence in the BLAST Premier Fall Series Group A grand final and earn a spot at the Fall Finals.
